About Linda

A long-time resident of Mulmur, Linda received her art education at the Ontario College of Art as well as the Vancouver School of Art.  She was one of the original members of both the Dufferin Arts Council and the Kame & Kettle art group, both formed in the early 1990s.  As a participant in several studio tours and juried art shows, Linda made a major contribution to the arts community.

Her contemporary painting style focused a modern eye on traditional subjects.  Linda had a passion for Plein Air painting.  Her landscapes, still lifes and urban scenes were colourful and impressionistic, allowing the spirit of personal vision to be realized.

In 2012 Linda travelled to Monte Castello di Vibio in Umbria to study at the International School of Art.  Linda was so empowered by this experience she decided to apply for the Reed T. Cooper Bursary (awarded to mid-career artists by Dufferin Arts Council). Upon receiving the bursary, Linda once again travelled to her beloved Italy.

The resulting one-woman show “La Campagnola” – the country girl, was presented at the Bartlett Gallery in Alton, in the spring of 2014. The paintings and sketches inspired by the rolling hills of both Umbria and her home in Mulmur Township produced a breathtaking adventure into these two areas of the world that meant so much to Linda. Her paintings continue to be enjoyed by the many patrons of her work.
